  • Ummm, has nobody noticed that in the picture accompanying the article, facebook misspelled "memorialized" several times. It clearly shows "memorialised" in the picture of the facebook page. Nobody noticed?!

  • Umm, clearly we've learned one thing: Do not order cakes over the phone. Either use email, fax or go in person to show what you actually want. No other way to know if order taker is writing down your instructions correctly.

  • I am noticing a theme with these cakes. Baker is spelling out what type of cake the customer wants, i.e. the "blue flowers". I think 99% of these problems could be fixed with a simple basic phone order form.

  • I agree with Phoenix. (And I'm a liberal Dem!) From what I hear, these abandoned, derelict houses are crime magnets ranging from dog fights, crack houses and prostitution, to rape assualts, etc.

  • It really makes financial sense. You have entire neighborhoods on the edges of town that from what I hear maybe have only a handful of occupied houses. But the police and fire trucks and ambulances and trash collection, etc. cost a lot of money to come to those barely occupied neighborhoods.

  • I don't think most folks are saying that your average carrier or desk clerk doesn't work hard and do their best but there is a lot of inefficiency in how mail is delivered, processed and other issues regarding the too cheap rates for junk mail.

  • All this post office talk has me thinking abot junk mail. I wish instead of raising 1st class rates, the p.o. would double or triple rates on junk mail to discourage the volume that gets sent each year. I went to this site last year and followed many of its tips and reduced my junk mail by 1/3.

  • How about more of those 24 postal machines (that weigh mail and sell stamps) and more mini-post offices in grocery stores and wal-marts. Make things as convenient as possible for people. Old post office way of closing at 5 pm every day is stupid in 21st century with busy lifestyles.
